Creativity Making a Comeback in Jiangnan - Shinho Creative Soft Can Food Competitiion

Jiangnan University is notable for its food science department, which is equppied with a national-level lab. Over the years, it has been dedicated to deliver top talents to China's food industry, and is known to the industry as the military academy for food. As a food enterprise, Shinho eyes on winning trust as its ultimate goal. It aims to lead improvement in the food ecosystem, and wants families to enjoy every meal and every day of their life. Upon in-depth co-operation with Jiangnan University, Shinho shares its vision with future industry leaders, and co-creates the future with creativity to push forward China's food ecosystem for the better. In May 2016, Shinho enterprise once again held a soft can food creativity competition with the Condiment Society of Jiangnan University's Food Sciences department. Competitors from various backgrounds had been undergoing careful preparations and strict screening, and then, finalists were chosen to go on the stage on the night of September 25th.
The final's panelists are made up by industry representatives, corporate representatives, and teachers from Jiangnan University. Before the final, Shinho's Dong Hanzhong manager shared Shinho's principles on food production, "We don't sell to consumers what we won't eat ourselves, not to mention producing it." No matter what kind of innovation we are doing today, we shall not forget about the most basic professional ethics. What we are making will be eaten by tens of thousands of families, and that is the level of responsibility we are carrying. She also shared her mindset for innovation based on her expertise, "Creativity doesn’t mean to come up with something on a whim. Food innovation requires us to look into consumers' needs - what kind of pain points, difficulties and excitement do they hold in life? That should be the approach of how we frame a product. A good idea must be viable. Do we have the supporting technology and environment? Does it cause any potential safety hazard? We need to think these through, especially the technology part. Because it determines whether we can realize our ideas. In addition, you also have to take business factors into consideration. A good product should be profitable, because only profitable products can be developed and improved. When you want to make your innovative idea happen, you must consider it from perspectives of a complete system including people, technology and business."
When the final started, finalists brought their products on stage in order, and presented their ideas with pictures and texts, production process, nutrition value and pricing. Although many ideas lack sophistication, panelists' eyes were caught by their interesting ideas, creative presentations and thoughtful packaging design. Eventually, "Rose Balls" won the first prize with the most unique idea and exquisite packaging among competitors.
From "Sweet Sauce DIY" in 2014, to "Sauce for Rice DIY" in 2015 and this year's "Soft Can", Shinho has been providing a platform where the future generation can exert their creativity. At the same time, Shinho also aims to influence more players with its guiding principles, and ignite them to join Shinho's team to push forward the improvement of food ecosystem, and make concerted efforts in building a trust-worthy Chinese food brand.
